For my drawing and painting is examining, dissecting, unmasking sometimes tarnishing in order to depict what is not depicted without wanting to say everything. In searching of crossing borders technically and mentally Leo Musch literally crosses the borders of the two-dimensional. This crossing of borders in image and space produces surprising three dimensional painted works on special transparent material with special paint.

You see works with

1) moving projections on a wall behind the painting through spotlight

2) light (bulbs and an electronic dimmer) behind the painting. The painted images lighten up what is painted underneath (the bottomlayers) gradually obtrudes, so that a new situation appears. This is what we can call a 'tableau vivant' a changing painting with slowly moving images

3) A second method of light paintings is a completely transparent painting, hanging before a pencil drawing against the wall (Between the transparent painting, made on transparent material with transparent paint, and the pencildrawing is 12 cm). By a spotlight on the transparent painting you see a projection on the pencil drawing behind. This gives a 3-dimensional effect.

4) Pencildrawings, made on white paper on which I make, before drawing, a texture created by print layers.
